SRINAGAR — In a significant move, a top official of the Election Commission of India (ECI) would held a virtual meeting with all the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday to discuss the details shared by them with the poll-body about the demographic and topographic information of electoral constituencies in their respective jurisdictions.
Sources said that the Deputy Election Commissioner, Chandra Bushan Kumar, will hold two separate meetings with the DCs of J&K Union Territory to discuss the data submitted by them to the poll-body.
“I am directed to inform you that Deputy Election Commissioner, Chandra Bushan Kumar, shall be holding a virtual meeting with all district election officers in two groups on 23rd June 2021,” reads a letter from Joint Chief Electoral Officer, J&K to the DCs.
According to the schedule, the Deputy Election Commissioner will hold a meeting with DEOs of Kupwara, Bandipora, Baramulla, Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, Jammu, Samba, Rajouri and Poonch between 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Later, he will hold a meeting with DEOs of Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban, Udhampur, Reasi, Kathua, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag between 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The meeting is being held after the DCs submitted data about electorate, topography and other details of the Assembly constituencies within their jurisdiction. (KNO)
