SRINAGAR — Ahead of the proposed meeting between the Government of India and the unionist political parties of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, June 24, the constituents of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) are all set to hold a meeting on Tuesday at the residence of the conglomerate President Farooq Abdullah.
The leadership of most of the unionist parties from J&K has been invited for an all-party meeting to be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
Ahead of the meeting, hectic deliberations by the political parties have started to decide on their participation in the meeting.
PAGD spokesman Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami said that the meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday and will be held at Farooq Abdullah’s residence.
He informed that the meeting, in which all the constituents parties will participate, will start at 11:00 a.m.
Sources said that the participants will discuss the decisions taken by their respective parties.
Earlier, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Political Affairs Committee (PAC) which met on Sunday authorized its President, Mehbooba Mufti, to take a final call over the participation in the all-party meeting while the National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah met several leaders from his party from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh in the last two days to seek their suggestions about the participation in the meeting.
Reliable sources said that the conglomerate will finalize its decision in Tuesday’s meeting before making it public in the afternoon. (KNO)
