ANANTNAG — Deputy Commissioner Anantnag on Tuesday provided an ambulance to the Maternity and Child Care Hospital in the town after the hospital authorities failed to repair their two faulty ambulances.
The biggest hospital in the southern part of Kashmir had only one functional ambulance while no interest and seriousness were shown to repair the two faulty ambulances.
Earlier, there were reports that patients at the hospital faced hardship due to the presence of only one ambulance.
The Maternity and Child Care Hospital (MCCH) apart from catering for patients from four southern districts — Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian — also receives patients from Ramban district and Chenab valley.
Official sources said that Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Piyush Singhla, donated an ambulance to the hospital in the interest of patients. (KNT)
