However, the board appealed to people to offer prayers at home in wake of the spurt in the COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Waqf Board, Mufti Muhammad Farid-ud-din said that there has been no order regarding the closure of the Masjids and shrines by the board.
“All the religious clerics have been asked to ensure that only a limited number of Nimazis should offer prayers at the religious places,” he said.
“However, I appealed to people to offer prayers at home to stay healthy,” he said.
He also said that since gathering is possible at shrines and Masjids, people should offer prayers at home to follow the limitations of the section 144 CrPC. (KNO)
