PULWAMA — A 50-year-old man was found hanging in Laribal village of Kakapora belt of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday afternoon.
Quoting an unnamed official, KNO reported that the man was found hanging from a tree near his residence in Laribal.
He was identified as Abdul Gani Dar of Laribal Pulwama. The deceased is father of three sons and one daughter, locals said.
“It seems that he has died of suicide but we have started investigations into the case,” the official said.
He said that a police team has taken the body into their custody and, after all legal formalities, it will be handed over to his family.
Pertinently, on April 2 this year, a gunfight between militants and government forces took place at his house in Kakapora, which he had purchased recently, after which his son, Nawaz Ahmad, was also arrested and booked under Public Safety Act (PSA). (KNO)
