SRINAGAR — An amount in tune of nearly three lakh rupees has been looted from a J&K Bank branch in Pattan by unidentified gunmen on Thursday afternoon, police officials said.
They said that the gunmen, donning PPEs, forced their entry into the bank branch in Sherabad Khore locality and decamped with 2,86,130 Indian rupees besides snatching a 12-Bore rifle from a bank guard who was on duty — who also suffered bruises during the scuffle.
On being challenged by the locals present there, the gunmen shot several times in the air before running away from the scene, police said, adding that “however the gunmen have left behind the vehicle which they used to reach the site.”
The culprits continue to remain at large even as the officials maintaining that an alert has been sounded in the peripheries to nab them. (GNS)
