SRINAGAR — In the ongoing gunfight between government forces and militants in South Kashmir’s Shopian district, the brother of one among the hiding militants has been sent inside the Masjid to persuade the militants to come out.
Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet said that the efforts are on to save the Masjid during the ongoing operation in South Kashmir’s Shopian.
Police also said that the operation is still going on while the brother of one among the holed up militants has been sent inside the Masjid to persuade them to come out.
Pertinently, police said that three militants have been killed in the ongoing gunfight while a top commander affiliated with AGuH has been trapped in the area.
The gunfight broke out after a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) was launched by police and other forces following specific inputs about presence of militants.
The hiding militants during CASO fired upon the search party, which was retaliated, leading to the gunfight. (KNO)
