SRINAGAR — A 17-hour-long cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) which was launched by government forces in Gulab Bagh Zakura area of Srinagar on Tuesday night ended on a peaceful note on Wednesday afternoon after no militant was found in the area.
Quoting unnamed sources, KDC reported that troops of J&K Police, CRPF and Valley QAT launched a CASO on Tuesday night in Gulab Bagh locality of Srinagar city following specific inputs about presence of militants in the area.
Additional forces were rushed to further seal all the entry and exit points around the area.
However, in the morning, forces fired some warning shots towards the building in which they were suspecting the presence of militants but that evoked no response from inside the house.
They said that the operation was called off after no militant was found. (KDC)
