Srinagar: Moderate to heavy rains continue in Kashmir Valley for the third consecutive day. The weather conditions are likely to remain the same for next 24 hours.
As per an independent weather forecaster, Kashmir Weather, moderate to heavy rains across plains of Kashmir are likely to continue for next 24 hours while higher reaches may receive moderate to heavy snowfall during the period.
Improvement in weather conditions is expected from late evening while light rainfall at many places may occur on 24 March as well, an official from Meteorological department said.
Srinagar recorded a rainfall of 30m.m. during the last 24 hours.
Due to the non-stop rains, roads in Srinagar are inundated, creating problems for people. The same conditions were also reported from different parts of the Valley.
Minimum temperature in Srinagar settled at 4.6°C, which is 0.4 degrees below the average for this time of the year.
Kupwara recorded a minimum temperature of 2.0°C while it received rains equivalent to 44.2 m.m.
Pahalgam recorded a low temperature of 3.2°C while 22.0 m.m rains till 8:30 AM.
Qazigund, Gulmarg and Kokernag recorded minimum temperatures of 4.6°C, -0.9°C and 3.6°C and rainfall equivalent to 45.8 m.m, 14.6 m.m, 31.4 m.m respectively. (KDC)
