Srinagar: Two days after a 45-hour-long gunfight in the area, several gunshots were heard as government forces on Wednesday relaunched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Rawalpora village of Shopian.
Quoting unnamed sources, KDC reported that government forces fired speculative rounds in the air after noticing suspicious movement. However, no contact has been established as of now.
Government forces had relaunched the CASO in the village after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants.
Meanwhile, searches were underway in the village while this report was being filed.
Two militants including top commander Sajad Afghani were killed and several residential houses were damaged in a 45-hour-long gunfight that broke out in the same village earlier this week and concluded on Monday evening. (KDC)
