Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday said that no third militant was found in Rawalpora area of Shopian district.
Quoting a senior police official, KNO reported that they received inputs that there was a third militant hiding in the area but after extensive searches, none was found. “We repeatedly made surrender offers as well,” the official said.
Pertinently, Jaish-e-Mohammed chief, Sajad Afghani, was killed in the gunfight early Monday morning at Rawalpora while as one Lashkar-e-Toiba militant was also killed on Saturday at the same spot, taking the total number of militants killed to two. (KNO)
