Srinagar: A fire broke out last night at a woodwork factory in Parimpora area of Srinagar, destroying wooden work and machinery worth lakhs.
The incident took place during the intervening night of March 5 and 6.
Fire tenders were rushed to the spot and it took them more than an hour to douse the fire.
The owner of the factory, Mir Muhammad Asif, said that the wooden work including paneling worth over 30 lakhs were destroyed in the fire incident.
Mir said short circuit may be the cause of the fire.
Meanwhile, police has registered a case and set investigation into motion. (KNT)
