Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have busted and subsequently destroyed a militant hideout in Seer Pastoona area of South Kashmir’s Awantipora.
Quoting an unnamed police officer, KDC reported that upon information of a militant hideout in the forest area of Seer Pastoona, police along with 42 RR and 180 Bn CRPF launched a search operation in the area
“During the searches, one hideout of militant outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen was busted and subsequently destroyed,” the officer said.
“The size of the hideout is approximately 5 ft × 7ft × 4 ft. Incriminating material of proscribed outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen and other material like utensils, food items etc has been recovered from the said hideout. The material has been taken into police custody for investigation purposes,” the officer added.
He added that an FIR number 14/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Tral and further investigation has been set into motion. (KDC)
