Srinagar: The weatherman on Tuesday forecast mainly dry weather this week minimum temperature dropped in south Kashmir and rose elsewhere in the Valley.
“Mainly dry weather is expected in both (J&K and Ladakh) till 6th March,” Director meteorological department, Sonam Lotus, said.
An official from meteorological department said that Gulmarg, the venue for the ongoing second Khelo India Winter Games, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 4.5°C against minus 6.2°C on the previous night.
Srinagar recorded a low of 1.6°C against 1.4°C on the previous night. The temperature was minus 0.6°C below the normal for this time of the year in the summer capital.
Qazigund recorded a low of 0.7°C against 4.0°C on the previous night while the mercury settled at minus 3.3°C at the famous resort of Pahalgam against 0.7 on the earlier night.
Kokernag recorded a low of 1.1°C against 2.6°C on the previous night. The minimum temperature settled at 1.1°C in Kupwara against 0.4°C on the previous night, the official said. (GNS)
