Leopard killed by locals in Pulwama village after it injures a man

Pulwama: A leopard was killed by locals in Pathan village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district after it injured a person on Wednesday.

The leopard attacked a local, identified as Bilal Ahmad, after which he was shifted to a hospital for treatment.

The locals subsequently attacked and killed the leopard in the afternoon, they said.

Wildlife Warden for Shopian division, Suhail Intesa, while confirming the incident, told KNO that the leopard was killed in retaliation by locals after it attacked them.

He added that they have taken the body into their custody and further investigation has been taken up. (KNO)
