Srinagar: A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Badigam of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday night, GNS reported.
According to reports, a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Badigam.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight.
A senior police officer also confirmed the exchange of firing between militants and government forces.
As per sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped. (GNS)
