Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday arrested the Chairman of International Forum for Justice Human Rights (IFJHRJK), Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, in Srinagar, KDC reported.
Quoting unnamed sources, the news agency reported that Untoo was lodged in Rajbagh Police Station in Srinagar.
In a statement, spokesperson of the forum said that police detained Untoo ahead of the proposed visit of European Union and African envoys to Kashmir this week.
Police authorities have reportedly told Untoo that they have reports of hum going to protest on February 17 on the envoys’ visit to the union territory, the statement says.
Pertinently, a delegation of foreign envoys is visiting J&K from this week on the pattern of their two earlier visits after the abrogation of Article 370. (KDC)
