Srinagar: After remaining closed for traffic movement on Friday for maintenance, Srinagar-Jammu highway will be open for traffic from Srinagar towards Jammu on February 14.
Quoting unnamed traffic authorities, KNO reported that the traffic will ply from Srinagar towards Jammu only, and no vehicle from the opposite direction will be allowed to move tomorrow.
The temporary Bailey bridge which was launched by BRO at Kela Morh in district Ramban was detached on Friday after repairing the wall of the original bridge which had earlier collapsed on January 9 this year.
“Since the area is landslide and shooting-stone prone, traffic will ply on one way only for heavy vehicles for some time.”, the officials said.
Meanwhile, traffic authorities, in their communiqué, for the traffic plan on 14-02-2021 said, “subject to fair weather and better road condition, only one-way traffic shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. TCU Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.”
Meanwhile, Mughal road, the alternative road which connects the valley to Jammu through the Shopian-Rajouri continues to be closed for traffic due to heavy snow accumulation in the area. (KNO)
