Srinagar: As chairpersons and vice-chairpersons for at least five districts in Jammu and Kashmir are being elected today, the polls in Ramban may throw a surprise amid reported confusion between National Conference and Congress.
Quoting unnamed sources, GNS reported that Azaad Itihaad Group (AIG) which is reportedly backed by J&K Apni Party may spring a surprise even as independents are keen to have non-BJP candidate elected for the vice-chairperson post.
Equally, the PAGD (NC) and Congress are confident to win the DDC chairperson and vice-chairperson elections, sources told GNS.
The polls are being held in Rajouri, Kishtwar and Poonch besides Ramban in Jammu division and Bandipora in Kashmir Valley.
The NC and Congress are confident to win in Kishtwar, Poonch where 8 independents were elected, as also in Rajouri and Bandipora. (GNS)
