Kumar said that the preparation for implementation of SOPs shall start from February 12 and monitoring of the same shall start soon after.

The order further reads that the Zonal Education officers (ZEOs) in Srinagar district shall conduct similar meetings with the Head of Institutions (HOIs) of elementary schools of their respective zones.

The CEO ordered the concerned authorities to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation facilities in the school.

Kumar in a SOP list said, “Arrange for thorough cleaning and disinfecting of all areas, furniture, equipment, stationery, storage places, water tanks, kitchens, canteen, washrooms, laboratories, libraries.”

He also said that it needs to be ensured that working hand-washing facilities, availability of key supplies like thermometers, disinfectants and soaps is available in the schools. (KNO)
