Pulwama: Joint government forces on Saturday claimed that they apprehended a sympathizer of militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba from South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The associate, police said, was involved in providing shelter, logistics and other support to militants in Pampore and Khrew areas of Pulwama district.
The arrest was made by police along with personnel from 50 Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF from 110 Battalion in Pampore area.
A police official identified the arrested militant associate as Junaid Altaf, a resident of Konibal Pampore.
He said that investigation reveals that Junaid was in touch with Pakistan-based militant commanders through various social media platforms.
“Incriminating material of proscribed outfit LeT has been recovered from him. A case had already been lodged against this militant associate at Police Station Pampore,” the official said. (KNT)
