Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Friday recorded four more deaths due to COVID-19, taking the death toll due to the virus so far to 1,928 in the Union Territory. Also, 88 new positive cases were reported, taking the tally of positive cases to 123,852 in J&K.
Of the exact number of 123,852 cases, 72,491 are from Kashmir and 51,361 from Jammu division. Officials said that among the 88 new cases, 46 belong to Kashmir division while as 42 are from Jammu division.
The total number of positive cases in Kashmir Division so far has reached to 72,491 including 70,581 recoveries and 1,209 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 51,361 including 50,245 recoveries and 719 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir is 1,098 including 701 from Kashmir division and 397 from Jammu division.
With 97 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 120,826 which is 97.56 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 18 from Srinagar, 4 from Baramulla, 5 from Budgam, 4 from Pulwama, 3 from Kupwara, 4 from Anantnag, 2 from Bandipora, 4 from Ganderbal, 2 from Kulgam in Kashmir division while as 42 from Jammu division include 32 from Jammu, 2 from Udhampur, 3 from Rajouri, 1 from Doda, 4 from Poonch,” officials said.
Notably, in the last 24 hours, four persons — two each from Jammu and Kashmir divisions — who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died.
As per officials figures, 25,967 positive cases including 453 deaths and 25,247 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,078 including 173 deaths and 7,851 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,738 including 7,571 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Budgam, 5,690 including 5,537 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,638 including 94 deaths and 5,493 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,865 including 4,737 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,685 cases including 4,597 and 61 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,585 including 4,468 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,688 including 2,596 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,557 including 2,484 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 24,808 including 24,220 recoveries and 370 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,193 including 4,097 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,867 including 3,804 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,428 including 3,359 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,252 including 3,196 recoveries and 51 deaths are from Kathua, 2,826 including 2,711 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,731 including 2,707 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,489 including 2,434 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,130 including 2,104 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,637 including 1,613 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 1,063,342 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 34,824 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,098 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 943,977 persons have completed surveillance period and 81,515 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 4,361,420 samples are available.
Out of 4,361,420, the number of samples tested negative stands at 4,237,568 while as 123,852 have tested positive, among them 1,098 persons are active, 120,826 persons have recovered and 1,928 persons have died. (KNO)
