Grenade attack on police post in Sopore, two injured

Srinagar: A 70 year old man, who had suffered minor injuries on his leg in a grenade blast at bus stand Tral two days ago, died at his residence on Monday. Police says that the septuagenarian’s death was natural and not as a consequence of the injuries he suffered along with seven other civilians at the bus stand Tral on January 2, Global News Service (GNS) reported.

Quoting unnamed officials, GNS reported that Mohammad Abdullah Gujjar (70) son of Sadiq Gujjar died at his residence at Hajin Tral.

Police said that he was discharged from hospital soon after the treatment for the minor injuries he had received in grenade blast.

“He was not under any treatment for injuries due to grenade blast”, official added.

He had received very minor injuries on the leg and was discharged from hospital after treatment immediately,” SSP Awantipora, Tahir Saleem, told GNS.

“Some people are circulating wrong information,” he added. (GNS)
