Srinagar: A missing youth from Natipora area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district has reportedly joined militant ranks, KDC reported.
Identified as Bilal Manzoor Bhat, son of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, the young boy went missing along with his friend, Irfan Ah Sofi, son of Nazir Ahmad Sofi, on December 14 last year — the day militants shot dead a Personal Security Officer (PSO) of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader at Natipora.
After disappearance, missing reports were filed at Police Post Chanapora, according to his family.
On Monday afternoon, an audio purportedly of Bilal went viral on social media, announced his joining the militant ranks.
In the audio message, he can be heard reaching out to his parents, saying not to search for him as he has “chosen the way of Allah, and is safe”.
Meanwhile, police has said that they are verifying the authenticity of the audio. (KDC)
