Srinagar: A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Hokarsar area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Tuesday evening, GNS reported.

Reports suggest that a joint team of Police, Army’s 02 RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Hokarsar.

As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.

A senior police officer also confirmed the exchange of firing between militants and government forces. (GNS)
