Militant associate arrested with Chinese grenade in Tral: Police

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a militant associate in Tral area of South Kashmir’s Awantipora.

Quoting police statement, Global News Service (GNS) reported that acting on information, Awantipora Police with the assistance of 42 RR and 180 BN CRPF today morning conducted search of a particular house in Syedabad village of Tral.

“During the search one person identified as Amir Ashraf khan son of Mohd Ashraf khan resident of Syedabad Pastuna was arrested and one Chinese hand grenade was recovered from his possession which he has kept concealed in a plastic jar in the compound of his house.” statement said.

Statement further stated that a Case FIR No.109/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered against the said militant associate in Police Station Tral. (GNS)
