“Don’t leave us like this”: Baramulla family appeals KU student son to return home

Baramulla: A 24-year-old youth has gone missing from Baramulla district from last four days with his family now urging him to return home and appealing the government to help them in tracing him, KNO reported.

Saqib Ashraf, son of Muhammad Ashraf Lone, a resident of Fategarh Baramulla, went missing on December 20 when he was returning home from Kashmir University.

Family members said Saqib left the university but did not reach home since then and repeated attempts to contact him failed as his phone was switched off.

“We tried to search for him everywhere. We called all our relatives and friends but nobody has any clue about Saqib,” the family said, adding that they have also filed a missing report at Police Station Sheeri in Baramulla.

The family has appealed their son to return home. “We appeal to our son to return home for the sake of God. Please don’t leave us like this and return home as soon as possible. We cannot live without you,” said his father, Ashraf Ahmad, amid tears and sobs.

“If he is with any militant outfit, we request them to please allow him to return home. He is very innocent. We don’t have any support except him,” Saqib’s family said. (KNO)
