Socio-political worker shot at in Rajouri

Unknown gunmen shot at civilian in Pulwama

Rajouri: A middle-aged socio-political worker was late Tuesday night shot at and injured outside his house in Draj village of Kotranka in Rajouri district.

He has been identified as 36-year-old Ranjit Singh, son of Prem Singh, a resident of Draj village of Kotranka in Rajouri district.

Officials told KNO that at around midnight on Tuesday, unknown gunmen fired at Singh outside his house. “He sustained a bullet wound.”

The injured was evacuated to a nearby hospital by his family members and neighbours. “From CHC Kandi, he was referred to GMC Rajouri and is under treatment”, officials said.

They said a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in the matter and an investigation is going on. (KNO)
