The seventh phase of maiden District Development Council (DDC) elections that began on Wednesday morning recorded a voter percentage of 47.43% across different constituencies spread over all but one (Srinagar) districts of Jammu and Kashmir till 1 pm.
According to the figures provided by the office of State Election Commissioner, in Kashmir Division, up to 1 pm, Pulwama has recorded a voting percentage of 9.37%, Baramulla 49.50%, Kulgam 14.32%, Shopian 5.20%, Anantnag 18.81%, Bandipora 58.78%, Ganderbal 41.60%, Kupwara 42.19% and Budgam 39.48%.
In Jammu division, Kishtwar has recorded a voting percentage of 61.01%, Udhampur 58.69%, Jammu 58.81%, Kathua 59.35%, Ramban 57.93%, Doda 50.13%, Samba 64.90%, Poonch 69.92%, Rajouri 61.38% and Reasi 58.89% up to 1 pm.
Kashmir division recorded a polling percentage of 32.41% and Jammu division 59.90%. Overall, 47.43% of voters have cast their votes up to 1 pm.
Polling is being held from 7 am to 2 pm.
Out of the total 280 constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir (14 in each of the 20 districts), 31 are going to polls in the seventh phase – 13 in Kashmir and 18 in Jammu division.
