BJP unnerved by our decision of fighting polls, vote for us to keep them away: Mehbooba

NIA BJP’s pet agency, GOI wants media to write op-eds about diabetes & yoga: Mehbooba

Shopian: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief and PAGD leader Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said that BJP is feeling unnerved over the PAGD’s decision of participating in the DDC polls.

She said that was the reason why the alliance candidates are barred from going for campaigning in south Kashmir and other parts of the Valley.

Talking to reporters at Zainapora Shopian, the PDP chief said that she had come to meet the local PAGD candidate who was not allowed to come out of his home for campaigning for the past 15 days.

“LG Manoj Sinha and SEC KK Sharma are making false claims that every candidate is allowed to go for campaigning. That is why I came here myself to tell people of Zainapora and Shopian to vote for PAGD candidates only for God’s sake so that BJP is kept away,” she said.

She said PAGD candidates will work hard for the identity of J&K that was ‘stolen’ on August 5 last year.

“They (BJP) will use grenades and guns to bag seats, but people should defeat BJP this time and ensure the victory of PAGD candidates,” she said, adding that Centre believed that parties like NC, PDP, Peoples Conference and CPI(M) would not participate in DDC polls so that they can ensure the victory of their candidates through “backdoor channels.”

Asked about the surfacing of former PDP leader Haseeb Drabu’s name in the 900 people who have allegedly grabbed land under Roshni Scam, the PDP president said that BJP is using ploys to divert attention.

“At times, it uses DC to summon Farooq Abdullah and now Roshni Scam is a new ploy. If I would be found involved in Roshni Scam, I will be the first person to choose jail,” she said. KNO
