Two Jaish militant associates arrested in Awantipora, claims police

Police arrest 4 Budgam youth; claim recovery of grenades, other ammunition

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested two Jaish-e-Mohammed militant associates in Tral area of South Kashmir’s Awantiopora.

In a statement, a police spokesperson said that they arrested two ‘militant associates’ affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) outfit from Tral and Pampore areas who were involved in providing shelter, support, logistics as well as in transporting of arms/ammunition of the militants in the said areas and were passing sensitive information to the militants of the outfit.

The statement further states that the duo has been identified as Bilal Ahmad Chopan, a resident of Wagad Tral and Mursaleen Bashir Sheikh, a resident of Chatlam Pampore.

Incriminating material has been recovered from both the arrested persons, the statement claimed.

Case FIR number 96/2020 and 90/2020 stands registered against the arrested persons in Police Station Tral and Police Station Pampore under relevant sections of the law, the statement reads. GNS
