Jammu: The movement of a suspected “surveillance drone” along the international border (IB) in Samba district has put alarmed the government security agencies, Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reported, quoting official sources.
Sources told the news agency that locals and Border Security Force (BSF) troops along the IB noticed the movement of the drone amid darkness on Friday night.
“With the kind of light of the vehicle seen by ground troops, it is being established that it was around 300 to 500 meters inside the IB,” they said.
They added that soon after the movement of the aerial vehicle was reported, an alert was sounded and the entire area was searched but no untoward trace like that of weapon dropping was seen.
The officials further said that it is being suspected that the aerial vehicle was a kind of “surveillance drone”. KNO
