Srinagar: Suspected militants on Monday evening lobbed a grenade towards Police Station Shopian in South Kashmir. However, it failed to explode, officials said.
Quoting an official, Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reported that militants hurled a grenade on Police Station Shopian, which didn’t explode.
They said that a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) has been called to defuse the grenade.
Earlier this evening, a grenade was lobbed towards Police Post Frisal in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. However, no loss of life or injury was reported during the incident.
Officials said the grenade was lobbed by unknown persons at 6:12 PM.
“However, no loss of life or injury occurred to anyone as the grenade missed the target and exploded outside the building of the police post,” officials said, adding that taking the advantage of darkness, the suspected militants took advantage of darkness and fled from the spot.
“The whole area has been cordoned off and search operations have been launched to nab the attackers,” officials said. KNO
