Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, on Wednesday said that his party will decide on whether to join Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) or not will be taken only after November 15.
In an interview with Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Mir said that the Congress leadership in New Delhi is currently busy in Bihar elections, therefore it would be inappropriate to raise the issue with them at this time.
He added that the J&K unit of Congress will hold deliberations with the party high-command soon after the elections (in Bihar) culminate.
“We have to take the party high-command on board before taking any decision. So, it is difficult for me to talk about this issue at present,” he said.
Mir further stated that any decision vis-à-vis participating in PAGD will be taken only after November 15.
Mir, who was also supposed to participate in the first meeting of the PAGD, could not participate due to his deteriorating health condition, the party had said in a statement.
Later, on the day of the second meeting, Mir claimed he received a delayed invitation and was not present in Srinagar, thus could not attend the meeting. KNO
