Uri: The Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a youth accused of raping a minor girl in Uri town of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
The accused, Nazim Hussain Kataria, 19, is said to have abducted a 10-year-old girl and raped her in a tin shed in a jungle.
Quoting SHO Police Station Uri, Muhammad Ashraf Pal, Kashmir News Trust (KNT) reported that one Muhammed Azad Katariya, son of Muhammed Akbar Katariya, of Navarounda village, reported to the police station that his daughter aged about 10 years (name withheld) was kidnapped and raped by one Nazim Hussian Katariya, son of Lateef Katariya, a resident of the same village, at an abandoned tin shed in a jungle.
The SHO said after receiving the complaint, the accused was arrested while the victim was handed over to her parents after conducting medico-legal formalities.
“In this regard, a case vide FIR number 151/2020 under section 363,376 IPC, 3/4 POCSO was registered at police station Uri,” he said. KNT
