Srinagar: One militant was killed while another militant surrendered before government forces in the ongoing operation in Noorpora area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Quoting Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar, Global News Service reported that one militant was killed in intial exchange of firing while the second militant, who was trapped inside the encounter site, agreed to surrender after hectic persuasion by the police and army.
It is pertinent to mention that two newly recruited Al-Badr militants also surrendered before government forces in Sopore last week.
Earlier, a joint team of Police and Army’s 42RR launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Noorpora.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight. GNS
