Poonch: Army on Sunday apprehended three persons from Shopian district of south Kashmir on “suspicion” and later handed them over to police who have found “nothing adverse” against them.

Quoting official sources, Global News Service (GNS) reported that the three persons were apprehended by Army’s 156 Territorial Army unit from Poshana area behind army’s 16 RR post.

The trio has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed Thokar, Umar Gulzar Wani and Shakir Ahmad Bhatt — all residents of Shopian. Later they were handed over to police.

When contacted, SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral told GNS that “nothing adverse has been found against them so far.”

“Since they are from Valley, we will follow due course in handing them over…,” he added. GNS
