‘Suspected drug overdose’: Sopore youth found dead in paddy fields

Sopore: A 29-year-old youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a paddy field in Model Town area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday morning.

An official told Kashmir News Observer that the deceased was identified as Nameez Ahmad Yatoo of Nowpora area of Sopore. “Nameez was discharged from rehabilitation centre Srinagar a few days ago,” he said.

The official said that Nameez’s body was found under mysterious circumstances in a paddy field while some injections were also lying beside his body.

A senior police official confirmed that they found some injections near his body. He said a case has been registered in this regard and further investigation has been taken up. KNO
