CASO launched in two Budgam villages, searches on

Budgam: Government forces have launched a cordon-and-search-operation in two hamlets of Beerwa area in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district this evening.

The search operations in both the villages were underway till the filing of this report.

Sources told Kashmir News Trust that soldiers from 53 RR, 2 RR and Special Operation Group of Police have cordoned Rathusan and Dragger villages of the district after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants.

Sources added that door to door search operation was initiated and all the entry and exit points of the village have been sealed.

Local sources said that huge contingents of forces have been deployed in these areas however, no contact with militants has been established so far. KNT
