Baramulla: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday morning buried all three Hizbul Mujhaideen militants, who were killed in Yeddipora area of Pattan in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, in Sonmarg in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, officials said.

Quoting police officials, Kashmir News Observer reported that the slain were identified as Hanan Bilal Sofi from Arampora Baramulla and Shafat Khan from Rawalpora Delina. The third one remains unidentified.

The decision not to give the bodies to their families was taken “in view of the Coronavirus pandemic.”

Police and some locals dug three graves in a graveyard in Sonmarg after receiving the information from police.

Three militants were killed while an army major and two SOG men were injured in a 12-hour long gunfight in Yadipora village of Pattan in North Kashmir’s Baramulla. KNO
