Bandipora: A 50-year-old woman who was critically injured on Thursday after her husband shot her in Bandipora succumbed to her injuries at a Srinagar hospital on Saturday evening.
A senior police told Kashmir News Observer that a retired army captain, Ghulam Hassan Khan, shot his wife, Fatima Begum (50), with a 12-bore gun after an argument ensued between the couple in Shokbaba village of Bandipora.
Following the incident, Fatima suffered critical head injuries and was shifted to District Hospital Bandipora, he said.
After initial treatment, she was referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for specialized treatment as her condition was critical.
The officer further said that after two days, the injured woman has succumbed to her injuries.
“After post-mortem, the body will be handed over to her legal heirs for last rites while her husband has been arrested. A case has been registered and further investigation has been taken up,” he said. KNO
