Pulwama: Aadil Rashid Bhat of Charsoo Batpora village of Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, who recently joined militant ranks, has qualified the 3rd-semester exams of Bachelors of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) with distinction.
Aadil has secured 897 marks out of 1100 (more than 80 per cent) in the exam, the results of which were declared on Tuesday. The result comes barely a few days after he announced that he has joined militant ranks.
Adil’s brother, Altaf Ahmad, told Kashmir News Observer that he checked the results only to know that Aadil had secured distinction in 3rd Sem BUMS. “All the family members felt sad,” he said.
“My brother was a brilliant student who secured 94 per cent marks in class 10th examinations. In class 12th, he secured 90 per cent marks,” Altaf said.
One of Aadil’s friends said that he was a genius and a very intelligent boy. “All of us are in a shock as to how he took such an extreme step,” he added.
“My friend was very unique in his character
He used to help all his friends and always tried to make things easy for everyone.”
A senior police officer said that they also have come to know that Aadil was a brilliant student but “unfortunately he choose a different path.”
“Surrender is always available as an option and his family members must try to bring him back,” he said, adding that “if he is brought back, he will be allowed to resume his studies after legal formalities.” KNO
