Srinagar: Journalist Qazi Shibli has been released, The Kashmiriyat (the news website he is editor of) reported.
On July 30, Shibli was summoned by Cyber Cell of Jammu and Kashmir Police and told to appear before the cell next day and he did.
He was detained afterwards at Police Station Shergadi Police Station and shifted to Central Jail Srinagar.
Shibli’s family, the report said, confirmed that he has been released and on his way back home.
Last year, Shibli was detained and booked under Public Safety Act days before August 5 when Government of India abrogated Article 370 ending the territory’s special status, followed by a strict clampdown and a wide arrest spree.
He was later released after some nine months of imprisonment in an Uttar Pradesh jail.
