Famed Indian Bollywood lyricist and Urdu language poet Rahat Indori, who had tested positive for coronavirus, passed away on Tuesday due to heart attack.
Rahat had this morning tweeted about his test. He was admitted to Sri Aurobindo Hospital Indore for treatment.
“Urdu poet Rahat Indori passes away at the hospital. He suffered two heart attacks today and could not be saved. He was admitted to hospital on Sunday, after testing positive for Covid-19. He had 60% pneumonia,” Dr Vinod Bhandari, Sri Aurobindo Hospital told ANI.
Rahat’s Twitter account too announced the news saying that he passed away at 5:00 PM.
The poet had just two months back composed a couplet about the times we are living in:
Subah phir hai wohi maatam dar-o-deewar ke saath
Kitni laashen mere ghar aayeingi akhbaar ke saath!
(Yet again in the morning, there’s mourning in every nook and corner
How many corpses will come to my house along with the newspaper!)
